Android Apps of the Week! – February 12, 2012
Welcome to another edition of DroidLessons.com’s “Android Apps of the Week!”. The plan is to compile a list of my favorite apps and share them with you on the Sunday of every week. It will give you plenty of time to try out the apps and then also something to look forward to on a weekly basis. It’s always fun to learn about the latest and greatest apps out there. The Android market has over 300,000 apps and therefore it’s not always easy finding quality apps via the Android Market. My hope is to save you some time by sharing and informing you of the quality apps that I have found over the many months of using and teaching on the Android platform.
So, without further ado, I present to you this week’s edition of “Android Apps of the Week!”.
Moto X Mayhem

Moto X Mayhem is another great game designed to help you pass the time on your Droid. The gameplay is simple and the graphics are great. You must race, jump, and crash your way through a variety of treacherous terrain in this fast-paced moto bike game, Moto X Mayhem! Try it now for free! Use accelerometer technology to balance as you climb and fly over huge jumps! Enjoy realistic physics as your shocks recoil when you land or your rider bounces around when you crash. Compete to be the fastest rider with Moto X Mayhem’s advanced highscore system.
Want to check it out for yourself? Just go to the “Market” icon on your phone and click the search button and type in “Moto X Mayhem”. Install the app and start having some fun! I’ve also included a link to the Android Market Webstore here for those of you that want to install it via the web. [Market Link]
FatBooth

Fatbooth is one of my favorite apps. Don’t get me wrong… I have productivity apps on my phone too! But this app always get a big laugh out of people. It’s simple to use, just snap a picture of a friend, and then this app will add a “few” extra pounds on them. It is simple but hilarious! Don’t judge me… I guess I just get amused by silly things! Check it out for yourself and see how many laughs you get! [Market Link]
Wallbase HD Wallpapers
By: Tim Clark
Cost: FREE
Wallbase makes finding new Wallpapers for your phone both fun & easy. Wallbase started off as a website which scrapes wallpapers from 4chan and then allows users to tag/moderate the wallpapers. This is an Android client for that website and it is a great way to find new wallpapers for your device. But be warned, some images on the site may be inappropriate for children. So this app is listed as “High Maturity”. Don’t let the kids play around with this one.
Features include:
✓ Browse, set and save over 1 million HD wallpapers
✓ Browse popular wallpapers
✓ Browse random wallpapers
✓ Browse popular tags
✓ Search by keyword/tags/color
✓ Filter by resolution, rating and 4chan image board
