One of the great things about Android is the ability to fully customize your device to fit your personality and style. There are so many different ways to customize your experience on Android… The quickest and easiest way that I have found is using an app by the name of GO Launcher EX. This free app gives you the ability to install hundreds of free Themes that will totally change the way your phone looks and feels. Since it is the Holiday season, I figured the best example would be to show you how to install a Christmas Theme on your Droid. I’ve included a video tutorial with this lesson so that you can follow along with me as I install GO Launcher EX app and the Christmas theme on my very own smartphone. I’ve also included some easy to follow step-by-step instructions below for those of you that want to skip the video.

The “Sharing” feature can be found directly under the description of the app you select on the Android Market. You’ll be able to send your friends a link to the app via several options such as: Facebook, Email, Gmail, Text Message, and many others. There are several ways to manage the audio levels on your Android device. But most of them involve going into various areas of the settings menu and I’ve found that to be kind of annoying when you are in a hurry and just want to change settings quickly. I’ve found that the quickest and simplest way to check/modify the Audio levels on your device is by installing an app called “AudioManager Widget” by Smart Android Apps, LLC. They’ve created a great widget that you can place on your home screen to easily distinguish what the various volume settings are set for on your device. You can then click on the widget and quickly change the volume settings on each of the following: Alarm, Media, Alerts, Ringer, System, and Voice Calls. You also have the option to select or unselect the vibrate options on your Alerts & Ringer. Check out the video tutorial below to see how to easily install and customize the app on your Droid!
Every now and again you may find yourself needing to clear the Internet Browser History on your Android device. Whether it be due to security, privacy, or maintenance reasons. Just like on a regular computer, a lot of junk is dumped onto the phone when browsing websites (temporary internet files, cookies, etc). Clearing out the Internet Browser History and Cache gets rid of all that data and is considered to be a good maintenance procedure to ensure that your Android phone continues to run smoothly.
