Habit Tracker and To-Do App for Android

One of the most common uses for our smart devices is for reminders and notifications for things we want to do. While a lot of us use these devices for simple things like the alarm for waking up in the morning, having a device that can remind you to do things that you always carry with you makes it a very powerful companion. Today, we’ll take a look at an app that makes this process a little bit easier by making it simple to add and track all of your tasks and send you notifications when it’s time to do them.

Today’s app is Habit Tracker, a free app that you can download from the Play Store by using this link. The app presents itself as a simple-to-use app with stylish Material Design and a lot of options for you to mess around with. So, let’s get down to business. After installing the app, open it and you will see this screen:

The app will then ask you to configure its settings, starting with the time you wake up and go to bed:

Then, it will take you to the main screen, and ask you to tap the lower right button to add a new task:

Choose “Add habit” to proceed and add your first habit to the app:

As you can see, there are plenty of options. For example, you can manually add a name and description, and even give that task a label:

You can also select on which days the task is supposed to be done:

And manually add reminders for it:

Once you’re done and add the task, it will appear in the main screen, telling you when you have to do it:

The app keeps track of your goals and activities automatically, as long as you mark that you have completed the task. This includes some powerful and easy-to-understand statistics, which are calculated and gathered automatically for you:

The app also provides you with a nifty and easy-to-understand calendar view that lets you see at a glance what tasks you have to do in the coming days, and easily navigate through the things you need to do:

It also provides you with specific views and screens for certain timeframes, like the next 30 days, or what you have to do tomorrow, which is pretty nice:

In terms of settings, all you need is there. You can go back and edit the time you go to bed or wake up manually through here, and you can even pick what view gets shown automatically when you open the app. So, for example, if you’re always interested in what you have to do tomorrow, you can very easily make the “Tomorrow” view the default through the settings and make it appear every time:

The app also comes with a nifty widget that you can use to see your upcoming events without having to go into the app at all:

And tapping it will bring you right to the habit list, so you can read the descriptions and what time it needs to be done:

In conclusion, this is a pretty nice habit tracking and to-do app. There is no lack of this sort of app in the Play Store, although the quality leaves something to be desired at times. Some have a confusing interface, are based on calendar events or don’t have enough options for you to really rely on it. This app keeps it simple with the interface, but has a ton of settings and customizable options so that you can really craft your own notifications and reminders in a way that suits you well.
