Blocking calls is a feature that has been available in Android for a long time. However, depending on your specific device manufacturer or your version of Android, the way to go about setting it up can be completely different. For example, certain devices may have the feature built-in, others may require a third-party app, like this one that we talked about before. However, today we’ll show you how you can block unwanted calls on a Samsung phone (including Galaxy and Note), using the built-in method, which is something you may not know about.
As mentioned, for Samsung devices, there is no need for a third-party app. The feature is included in the actual Phone app, where you can browse your contacts and make calls, and integrates directly with your data. Here’s how to get it working:
First, open your Phone app, then tap the “More” button:
In the dropdown menu, you will see a “Settings” option:
Tap that, and you will see this screen:
The option you’re looking for should be named “Call Blocking” or “Call Rejection”. Tap on it, and you will have access to the call blocking feature:
This is where you can add the numbers that you want to block. You can introduce them manually, directly from a contact in your list, or even a call from your call log:
And that’s about it – whenever that number attempts to call you, it will be automatically blocked. Of course, there are a variety of reasons why you might be interested in blocking a number, from something as simple as a telemarketer to an annoying ex, and it’s definitely nice to finally get some peace and quiet when you need it. This is by far the easiest method to block calls on Samsung devices, even if there are other methods available. And since it’s integrated into the native dialer and doesn’t require you to do any modifications to your phone or install extra apps, you might as well take advantage of it. Any questions or doubts?
